CHILD PRODIGY DEBUNKS HAWKING, EINSTEIN ~

11-Year Old Boy Says Hawking was Wrong, “God Does Exist”, in Viral God vs Science Debate Vid

Since the Dawn of Man, humans have been searching for the existence of a higher being. This of course led to the birth of many organised religions and cults, and ancient beliefs that we read about in history books that are still practiced in remote parts of the world today. But as humanity saw a leap in technology in the past century, where smartphones are now packed with enough processing power to take care of our most rigorous urban chores, it can be argued that more people are opting out from Team God and moving over to Team Science.

Hence the numerous debates that fill the internet, from civil discussions to enraging one-sided arguments, all to prove whether God is real or an imaginary friend, or if the answer is in scientific equations instead of scripture.

Back in 2017, a boy-genius from Pennsylvania took on the debate of ages, trying to prove that Stephen Hawking was wrong. Yeah, the guy who contributed to the fields of cosmology, general relativity and quantum gravity. He’s the Black Hole guy.

The video of young William Maillis went viral, but what’s so special about this kid? Well for starters, he’s only 11 years old. While every other kid wants to be a teacher, a police officer and sometimes a dinosaur, Maillis has always had the dream of becoming an astrophysicist when he grows up.

Born in Pennsylvania, young Maillis is far from average. He graduated high school in May 2016 when he was only 9 years old. He then attended classes at a community college and soon, he enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University.

According to his father, Peter Maillis, William started speaking in full sentences at just seven months old. He was doing addition at 21 months and multiplication at age two, he was also reading children’s books and writing his own nine-page book called Happy Cat.

His ability to impress goes on, at four years old, he was learning algebra, sign language and how to read Greek. When he was five, he read an entire 209-page geometry textbook in one night, and solving circumference problems the next morning.

There’s no denying that he’s a genius, a child prodigy on the lookout. But other than his passion about science, he also devotes himself to religion. The son of a Greek Orthodox Priest, William Maillis wants to prove that God exists. He wants to prove that an outside force is the only thing capable of creating the universe to which he William claims his argument that “God does exist.”

Until we die, no one will ever be certain if God exists or doesn’t, but that doesn’t mean religion can’t come into play in debates like these. William disagrees with geniuses like Albert Enstein and Stephen Hawking and said that Hawking was wrong to say that God doesn’t exist. Of course, many have argued that Hawking’s post-interpretation of his own words in his book A Brief History of Time–if physicists could figure the theory of everything they would they would glimpse “the mind of God”–does not in anyway point to a disbelief or belief in God but rather how that God created the universe.

When asked why he felt the need to prove his theories to scientists, William said;

“Well because there’s these atheists that try to say that there is no God, when in reality it takes more faith to believe there’s no God than it does to believe that there is a God… because it makes more sense that something created the universe than that the universe created itself… It takes more faith to say the universe created itself than to say something other created the universe because that is more logical.”

Whether you’re religious, an atheist or a unicorn, we all can agree that the boy has a bright future ahead of him.
