The Depraved World Of Child Molesters – Part Three: The Franklin Case
In order to gain understanding of the many facets that encompass the Epstein case it is essential to look back almost 40 years ago and examine the outcome of a child/teenage prostitution ring after it was nationally exposed.
The Franklin child prostitution ring allegations erupted like a bomb in June 1988 in Omaha, Nebraska, when prominent Nebraska political and business VIPs were accused of involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Although the allegations generated a stir of national publicity, the matter was temporarily laid to rest after separate state and federal grand juries ruled that the salacious charges were unfounded.
The accusations centered on the actions of Lawrence E. King Jr., who ran the now defunct Franklin Community Federal Credit Union in Omaha. One of the rising black stars in the GOP, King was the former Vice Chairman of the National Black Republican Council and sang the National Anthem at the 1984 Republican National Convention.

Through the credit union, King passionately courted the leaders of Omaha’s wealthy business district including banks, industries, and charities who placed millions of dollars in his hands. King also grew close to the leaders of a nearby community for orphaned kids called Boys Town, which willingly sent children to work for him.

Meanwhile Carol Stitt, Director of the Nebraska Foster Care Review Board, became concerned when, “Larry King’s name was consistently present as someone that the youth were making allegations against.”
Stitt furnished local authorities with information she compiled but soon came to realize that the allegations were not taken seriously: “It was very clear that the case was not investigated and not pursued because of the alleged perpetrators.” Stitt also recalled receiving threatening messages, “with one man telling her over the phone, ‘If you speak, you won’t live to regret it.’”

On April 11, 1988, the offices of the Franklin Credit Union were raided and closed by the FBI, after evidence of lavish spending by Larry King attracted the attention of the IRS. King was arrested, and a federal investigation revealed he had stolen an astonishing $40 million from the credit union.

Eventually, two private investigators, Karen Ormiston and Gary Caradori were hired to look into the abuse of minors allegations. They started interviewing all of the purported victims, and were aghast by what the minors told them.
In 1990, when investigator Caradori was on his way back to Nebraska from Chicago, where he had reportedly uncovered more evidence regarding King’s prostitution ring, his plane mysteriously crashed, killing him and his eight-year-old son. The plane was said to have broken up midflight, since pieces were found over a large area, but investigators could never determine just what made the aircraft break apart. Curiously FBI agents impounded all records of the investigation within 24 hours of the crash.

Former Nebraska state senator and attorney John DeCamp described the Lincoln child prostitution ring as, “A web of intrigue, that starts in Nebraska and spreads out like a spider-web to Washington, D.C. – right up to steps of the nation’s capital, right up to the steps of the White House. It involves some of the most respected and powerful and richest businessmen in this United States of America.”

King had his own airplane which he used to fly minors to, among other places, Washington DC. According to one news report, “King’s partner in crime in Washington appears to have been a man named Craig Spence, surely one of the oddest figures in the history of American politics. POWER BROKER SERVED DRUGS, SEX AT PARTIES BUGGED FOR BLACKMAIL
This was the screaming of a Washington Times article.
The “power broker” was non-other then influential lobbyist Craig Spence.
Intriguingly the Washington Times was able to confirm that Spence arranged at least four midnight tours of the White House as a reward for the teenage prostitutes for their participation in his blackmail parties.

Soon after the Washington Times exposed Spence’s blackmail schemes he committed suicide.
In due course DeCamp met with the Washington Times writer, Paul Rodriguez, who exposed the salacious blackmail parties. Rodriquez says he obtained credit card records, receipts, and a list of clients – about 20,000 documents in all. However when prosecutors found out that Rodriguez was accessing the documents, they sealed all related records by court order. Rodriguez says that on several occasions they tried to access the records only to be told that “it would be a cold day in hell before the records would be unsealed.”

Interestingly in 1999, one of King’s victims was awarded $1 million in damages due to his lawsuit against King and other alleged perpetrators. John DeCamp was friends with former CIA director William Colby who strongly urged him to publish a book about the Franklin scandal stressing the need for public awareness. The finished book was titled The Franklin Cover-up Child Abuse, Satanism, and Murder in Nebraska.
Eventually a journalist from the BBC, Nick Bryant, wrote another account of the sordid affair, The Franklin Scandal: A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse & Betrayal. Bryant commented, “The FBI did everything it possibly could to discredit those kids. The behavior of the FBI is so egregious in the Franklin case, it’s worse than appalling,”

In 1993 a British-based TV station, Yorkshire Television, sent a first-rate team of investigators to Nebraska to launch its own inquiry. Yorkshire had a contract with the Discovery Channel to produce a documentary on the case for American television but days before the movie was supposed to premiere, it got shut down with no explanation. The iconic Boys Town served as a reservoir for King to plunder but his exploits evidently extended far beyond and even included Offutt Air Force base in Nebraska.
A member of Nebraska’s Concerned Parents group reported hearing from two North Omaha witnesses that “King used to send limousines down to Offutt Air Base to pick up CIA agents for parties.”

DeCamp him self wrote, “Additionally several child victims have given evidence in great depth on the central role of Lt. Col. Michael Aquino in this depravity. Aquino, alleged to have recently retired from an active military role, was long the leader of an Army psychological warfare section which drew on his ‘expertise’ and personal practices in brainwashing.”
