Death of First Amendment

  • Our moral compass heads towards the abyss

By Jerry Barrett — “Power of Prophecy”

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or

prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of

speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to

    assemble.”   — First Amendment

Our Founding Fathers were deeply engaged in philosophy and reasoned

debate. Many would write lengthy letters to communicate opinions on

pressing matters. This naturally encouraged much deeper thought than we

    have today.

Not by a long shot. Today, we live in a society with knee-jerk

reactions where sound bites, tweets, and other social media posts shape

opinion moreso than any discussion. The art of debate has become an

    endangered species.

    Who’s Truth is Right?

Controlled media no longer deliver unbiased news to their audience.

Instead, narratives designed to provoke outrage and emotional reactions

    are deliberately pushed.

Ideologues have proliferated throughout our educational system so

profusely that today’s youth have a distorted view on what truth really

is. Surveys reveal that a majority of young Americans have an almost

paralyzing fear of climate change and the ramifications facing them.

Many have decided to forego bearing children for fear of destroying

    “mother earth.”

Likewise, many have been brainwashed into believing that men can

have babies. If anyone dares to disagree with their ideology they are

deemed to be misogynistic, xenophobic, and purveyors of hate.

The Ministry of Truth Operating at Warp Speed

During the COVID-19 scamdemic, anyone who dared to question the words

emanating from Saint Fauci were lambasted. This paragon of truth was

idolized by millions of dupes after he was heralded by controlled media

for his intellect and caring attitude.

Twitter, now known as X, was owned by Jack Dorsey during this time.

Many doctors claimed to have astronomical success rates by prescribing

Ivermectin on their social media pages as a cure for the Wuhan Flu. Not

only were these posts removed from Twitter, but many medical facilities

removed privileges for these doctors. Some states even revoked their

    medical licenses.

Alejandro Mayorkas, the Director of Homeland Security under Joe

Biden, had the audacious plan to create a Ministry of Truth to seek out

those who offered disinformation or misinformation concerning this

virus. Controlling the narrative was imperative to maintaining the

massive hoodwink being foisted on Americans.

Other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok,

YouTube, et al, likewise removed any posts concerning the use of

Hydroxycloroquine and Ivermectin. These accounts were removed—known as

“shadow-banning”—from active views to control the narrative. Some

accounts were even deleted without the consent of the creator.

    Cultural Marxism Unabated

During this same time period the Marxist doctrine of Diversity, Equity,

and Inclusion (DEI) became the mantra of the looney left. Terms like

gender dysphoria, gender neutral, non-binary, and transgender gained a

foothold in our lexicon. The destruction of the nuclear family was

rapidly reaching a culmination long sought after by liberal doctrine.

The then-director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

(CDC), Rochelle Walensky, urged everyone to “trust the science.” While

imploring everyone to blindly trust science, she was advocating for

transgenderism claiming women should be called “pregnant people” or

“birthing people.” Man and woman were no longer words that carried any

    weight with her progressive ideology.

She also pushed for diversity in the healthcare workforce to

alleviate health disparities. According to twisted progressive liberal

logic, only those from certain communities can understand individuals

from these communities. In layman’s terms: white male doctors cannot

    properly serve people of color.

This progressive mindset has reached pandemic levels in our medical

schools as the push for diversity, equity, and inclusion has superseded

the Hippocratic Oath. There have been reports that medical students have

injured patients who made comments about preferred pronouns.

The gender identity movement has gained traction in many

universities as part of the “inclusion” promoted by Marxists. Recently

at Texas A&M University a female student argued with her professor over

gender identity being taught in a children’s literature class. When the

student objected based on her religious beliefs the professor told her

    to leave.

Many students in this environment have been afraid to disagree with

these learned professors. Some will blindly follow these teachings and

continue fostering the gender identity movement in future elementary

    classrooms across this country.

    What is “Free Speech?”

A colleague once commented on her daughter’s university friends

concerning the First Amendment. Apparently there is a new interpretation

of free speech—you can say what you want so long as it doesn’t hurt

    someone’s feelings.

As the host of Power of Prophecy’s weekly radio show I would be

disappointed if I didn’t upset someone. The expectation of complete

agreement with my statements is absurd. Many an email, or letter has

reached me at the ministry, voicing disagreement.

These disagreements evoke contemplation, extensive research, and

thoughtful replies—much like our Founding Fathers did. Each us of has a

right to our opinions and the ability to respectfully agree to disagree.

Has Respect Gone the Way of the Dodo?

“Without free speech, there is no such thing as truth. The moment you

silence opposing voices, you destroy the foundation of democracy.”

    —Charlie Kirk

Sadly, the age of debate has long passed. No longer is an open dialogue

allowed or accepted. The progressive side of liberalism has placed a

stranglehold on voices who do not align with their message.

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated by a

lone gunman on September 10, 2025. Mr. Kirk traveled the country

offering to debate college students on a number of topics, challenging

    them to prove him wrong.

In essence, Charlie Kirk exposed the radical ideology being thrust

upon college students. He exposed university administrators and

progressive students who were working to make campuses unwelcoming for

conservatives. They effectively banned them from faculties and didn’t

    invite them on campus.

If a conservative speaker was asked to address the students,

administrators were liable to disinvite and cancel them. They did

everything they could to render the opposing point of view illegitimate.

Leaders from Utah Valley University, where Kirk was murdered, said

they wanted the campus to be a place “where ideas—popular or

controversial—can be exchanged freely, energetically, and civilly” and

where “free expression thrives and all voices are respected.”

Irony is Lost on Liberals As Hate Pervades

Hunter Kozak was the last person to ask Charlie Kirk a question. He was

interviewed on CNN and said, “The point I was trying to make was how

peaceful the left was, right before he got shot.”

Matthew Dowd, a political analyst for MSNBC, attempted to lay the

blame squarely at the feet of Mr. Kirk. Dowd said, “He’s been one of the

most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is

constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at

certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to

hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.” Dowd has since been

    fired by MSNBC.

Many other evil, hate-filled people celebrated the murder of a human

being. One student at the University of North Texas reported that while

in class, “They were passing around the video of Charlie getting shot.

When it ended, they clapped. They laughed. They said things like, ‘This

is the best day ever,’ and, ‘This should happen to Trump next.’”

What shocked her more was the response from her professor: “He

watched it all happen and then came up to me—not the other students—and

said, ‘You all should probably take this outside,’ and then laughed.”

The Republic is on the Precipice.

Once considered a bastion for the free exchange of ideas and thoughts

has now turned into a cesspool of mind-controlled hate mongers. Charlie

Kirk recognized this and attempted to expose it. On April 7, 2025 he

wrote on X: “Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of

liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon

Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump…

“The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether

losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent

    response.

“This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating

violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors

and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”

Thomas Paine wrote: “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we

obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives

everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can

gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection…he whose

heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue

    his principles unto death.”

Charlie Kirk was not afraid to face the wrath of demented liberals

on college campuses across America. He proudly professed his love of

Jesus Christ and routinely witnessed to many during his speaking

    engagements.

Whether you agree or disagree with what Charlie Kirk had to say, it

is imperative that we all have the courage and conviction to defend each

other’s right to free speech. The only answer to speech is more speech.

We must not go quietly into that goodnight, dear friends.

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.”  — Luke 6:27

Where would our country be without the now lost art of thoughtful and

civil debate, assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances?
